Lowell City Council Budget Deliberations (June 9, 2008)

The City Council will meet Monday at 5:00pm to begin budget deliberations which will be continued on to the City Council meeting on Tuesday; the city budget was posted online on Friday 6 June. The manager has included an additional $325K for the schools in that budget, which will enable us to keep 6 of the priority 10 positions indicated by the School Committee. Unfortunately the last four are elementary reading specialists that we also really need. There may be certain councilors who don't want to even give us the additional $325k, so early and personal contact with each of them is important.
