How does Citywide Parent Council operate?
The Executive Board (elected each May) plans and conducts
a monthly Citywide Parent Council Meeting;
Each school elects two CPC representatives (Lowell High
elects eight) whose responsibilities are described below;
The monthly CPC meetings try to address the issues that
parents feel are most important;
Special subcommittees may be formed to address issues
that are particularly important (such as safety or academics).
The Executive Board also meets with the Superintendent
of Schools each month.
The CPC representatives from each school should
Attend and participate in monthly CPC meetings;
Give your principal a written report of what was discussed
at the monthly CPC meeting;
Keep in touch with members of your school's parent organization.
Bring issues of concern to the PTO to the attention of the
CPC Executive Board;
Keep in touch with members of your School Site Council.
